Cookie Policy

The short version

We use cookies to keep you logged in, to understand how our website is used, and - on our marketing website only - to measure how well our advertising works. We do not run advertising or tracking cookies inside the Ziado learning app, and we never show ads to children.

Where we use cookies

This distinction matters to us, so we want to be plain about it:

  • ziado.com - our marketing website. Visited by adults deciding whether to sign up. This is where our analytics and advertising cookies run.
  • app.ziado.com - the learning app. Where children actually learn. We use only essential cookies here: no analytics profiling, no advertising cookies, no ad-platform pixels, no third-party tracking.

Essential cookies

These make the service work - authentication, session management and security (for example, keeping a parent logged in to their dashboard). They run on both the website and the app, and they can't be switched off without breaking login.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics on our marketing website to understand which pages help people and where visitors come from. This tells us how the site is used in aggregate, not who you are. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<id>, which last up to two years.

Advertising and conversion measurement

We advertise Ziado to parents on other platforms. So that we can tell which ads lead to sign-ups - and avoid wasting money showing ads to people who have already joined - we use conversion tracking pixels from:

  • Google Ads - cookie _gcl_au, around 90 days.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) - cookie _fbp, around 90 days.
  • TikTok Ads - cookies _ttp and ttclid, up to 13 months.

These pixels tell the advertising platform that a visit or a sign-up happened so it can be attributed to an ad. They run only on our marketing website, never in the learning app. We never send a child's name, age, year level or learning data to any advertising platform.

These platforms may use the information they collect for their own purposes under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. You can review them at Google, Meta and TikTok.

What we don't do

  • No advertising or tracking cookies inside the learning app.
  • No ad targeting of children.
  • No advertising shown inside Ziado, to anyone.
  • We never send children's personal information or learning data to advertising platforms.
  • We do not sell personal information.

Your choices

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login from working.

You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on, and you can adjust ad personalisation directly with Google, Meta and TikTok in your account settings on those platforms.
